AT&T Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge August Security Patch Update (UCS2APH1)

AT&T Galaxy S7 and S7 edge is getting an OTA update that brings up the August Security Patches. Yeah, that's according to AT&T's announcements about the changelog details that says Android device security enhancements. Nonetheless, it seems just a minor update but it carries around 56 Google and 8 Samsung patches in order to improve our customer’s confidence on security of Samsung Mobile devices, according to Android Security bulletin. The update will arrived dubbed as build version number MMB29M.G930AUCS2APH1 (for Galaxy S7), and MMB29M.G935AUCS2APH1 (for Galaxy S7 edge).

The Over-The-Air OTA update weighs at 62MB in size, it's one of the smallest update you might ever have  in your device.

How to update the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge via Over-The-Air:

Ensure your phone's battery is fully charged before starting the software update.
  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for Updates.
  2. If your device finds a new software update, tap Download now. When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of software is ready to be installed. Tap Install update.
  3. The device will power down and power back on. A screen will appear stating that the installation has been completed. Tap OK.
  4. You’ve successfully updated your software.

How to Update the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Thru Smart Switch?

The second method is a firmware update through Samsung Smart Switch for PC. You may head over to your  local Samsung support page from where you can download the Smart Switch from there, and install it in your PCs or Mac computer. Once you installed the Smart Switch, all you need is connect your Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge into your PC using the USB data cable, then simply run and follow Smart Switch on-screen’s software update instruction.
